Mamallapuram

On the spir of the moment we decided to join some friends for a 3-day weekend on the east coast of India, in a place called Mamallapuram. It's a 6 hour drive from Bangalore.

We were stopped for 30 minutes while Gopi bought a Rps. 200/ permit good for traveling in Tamil Nadu for 1 week.

Since it was just the 4 of us + Gopi we had a lot more room to move about in the Innova.

Annika bonked her loose tooth with her knee that added some drama half way through the trip.

Auggie Doggie lives up to his name and enjoys a good car ride.

When we arrived at our hotel there was some confusion about our reservation so the reception desk urged us to go have a nice lunch and they'd have a room for us by the time we returned.
We dined at The Warf restaurant right on the Bay of Bengal.

Erik trying to relax during lunch after 6 hours in the car and the messed up room reservation.

The next morning we ventured out so we could see the Mamallapuram Temple before the sweltering heat hit us. The temple is carved out of the stone mountain... quite a feat.

This monkey stole a woman's tupperware container, climbed up into the tree, took his foot and both hands, unscrewed the top and sat happily eating his reward.

The next morning the kids were POOPED!

The hotel boasts it has the longest swimming pool in South Asia
