Berlin, Day 1 - Berlin Zoo

When we arrived in Berlin at 6:00am after a sleepless night, we found our way to the subway, rolled our suitcases to our hotel and our hotel told us they were full and wouldn't have our room ready until 2:00pm. Oooooohhh. But they said they would take our suitcases so we could walk around a lot easier.
Our hotel was walking distance to the Berlin Zoo, so we decided to head there first.

On our way to buy tickets to the Zoo these sled-dogs ran by. Not a site you see every day in a Metropolitan City.

We stayed all day at the Zoo and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Remember Knute? He was a worldwide sensation when he was born in captivity at the Berlin Zoo. I remember news reports of this celebrity bear. Now that Knute is an adult he doesn't cause the ferver he did as a cub, but it was still fun to see him.

Happy Feet!

They fed the lions real rabbits... hmmm, a little too realistic for me.
