Bandipur - Day 2 + my birthday

In the morning we had a 6:30 trek in the jungle. We were all ready to go when the trek guide came up to us and said the trek wasn't possible because of the kids. He said if we came upon an elephant and the kids screamed or ran we'd all be in danger. So I asked who else was joining us on the trek and he said it was just us so I asked if we could alter the trek a little to something maybe a little less exciting but still scenic and interesting. He agreed.

Waiting for the trek to begin.

The kids fell in love with the camp's dog Kimcha.

Sweet Kimcha.

Let the trek begin!

After about 45 minutes of walking Annika went on strike - her legs were tired and she didn't want to walk any more. (If she looks like this at 7, what kind of attitude will she exude at 13??)

While walking on the trail a group of Sambar crossed the trail up ahead, they are so large they have the same sized foot as Annika.

Back at home Kimcha was waiting for us and the trees were full of monkeys.

What a great start to my birthday. WOW!
