Bye-Bye Pomegranate
I went outside this morning to water my herbs/plants and was very disappointed to see my pomegranate had been eaten since I'd last watered. It had been so fun to check on it and watch it grow.
Maybe the scattered seeds will start new pomegranate plants.

Indus Science Fair
Indus just had their annual Science Fair.
Annika teamed up with her friend Octavia. They did a presentation for the parents/other students showing a couple experiments proving that air has mass.
Auggie's class did several projects using recycled/reused materials.
Auggie's classroom filled with their projects.

Taco Bell is taunting us
We still haven't been to Taco Bell. The wait time for your order is still around 40 minutes + 1.5 hour drive each way just doesn't make sense. We'll wait until the buzz goes down or they open a second location.
UPDATE: I just found out that this 1st Taco Bell in India is also the 1st restaurant to offer free drink refills. This is a completely foreign concept to the general Indian public and has added to the craziness. We still haven't been, which is totally surprising to me, but since we continue to hear stories of the mad-house that is Bangalore's Taco Bell we're willing to wait.

Bandipur - Day 2 + my birthday
In the morning we had a 6:30 trek in the jungle. We were all ready to go when the trek guide came up to us and said the trek wasn't possible because of the kids. He said if we came upon an elephant and the kids screamed or ran we'd all be in danger. So I asked who else was joining us on the trek and he said it was just us so I asked if we could alter the trek a little to something maybe a little less exciting but still scenic and interesting. He agreed.
Waiting for the trek to begin.
The kids fell in love with the camp's dog Kimcha.
Sweet Kimcha.
Let the trek begin!
After about 45 minutes of walking Annika went on strike - her legs were tired and she didn't want to walk any more. (If she looks like this at 7, what kind of attitude will she exude at 13??)
While walking on the trail a group of Sambar crossed the trail up ahead, they are so large they have the same sized foot as Annika.
Back at home Kimcha was waiting for us and the trees were full of monkeys.
What a great start to my birthday. WOW!
